(“Eccogene”, “we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy when you visit our website at: eccogene.com (“Site”). collects only the personally identifiable information and other personal information that you choose to provide when visiting the Site or in communicating with us, and Eccogene uses the information only for its legitimate business purposes. Eccogene will not sell, share, or otherwise distribute your personal information to third parties for their purposes. Please read our full Privacy Policy and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you what personal information we may collect from you when you visit our Site, how we use such information, and the choices you have regarding our use of, and your ability to review and correct, the information. By accessing or using the Site or otherwise communicating with us, you consent to the information collection, disclosure and use practices described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and governed by our Terms and Conditions of Use (available on our corporate website). If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not disclose any personal information through this Site.

Changes to this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy may be revised periodically. By visiting and using the Site, or communicating with us, you acknowledge our right to change this Privacy Policy, without prior notification. If we materially alter our Privacy Policy, we will post such changes on our Site. We recommend that you visit our Privacy Policy regularly so that you are aware of any changes made to this Privacy Policy.
How and What Personal Information We May Collect. Eccogene recognizes your need for appropriate protection and management of personal information you share with us. “Personal information” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person and includes personally identifiable information (e.g., name, e-mail address, telephone numbers, etc.)
Our Site is structured in order for you to visit it without identifying yourself or revealing any personally identifiable information. We may collect certain personally identifiable information from you when you send us a comment or question, telephone us, or when you request information about our Site. This personally identifiable information may include your name, e-mail address, and possibly other information. Please do not provide any sensitive information or health information. If you should do so inadvertently, we will use and disclose that information in the same manner as any other information you provide to us. Whether or not to provide such information is completely your own choice; Eccogene collects only the personally identifiable information that you provide to us.
When visiting our Site, we may automatically collect information that, alone, cannot be used to identify you (referred to as “non-personal information”). Examples of types of non-personal information that we may collect include web pages viewed, data and time, browser type, non-granular location (e.g., country, state), usage and similar data. We may also collect your device’s IP address (which is considered personal information but, by itself, cannot identify you.) We may aggregate demographic information collected from our users (such as the number of users in a particular geographic location) in a manner which does not identify any one individual. We may use this non-personal information in aggregate form for product and service development, for market analysis, and to understand how to improve the quality of our Site. In doing so, we may provide it to third parties to provide these analytics services.
If you apply for employment with us, we will ask you provide certain personal information, such as your professional credentials, educational and professional history, institutional affiliations, background checks, and information of the type included on a resume or curriculum vitae (such as work experience, education, salary, location and languages spoken), as well as your contact information to communicate with you about your application.
Spamming. Eccogene does not participate in or condone “spamming.” “Spamming” is sending unsolicited e-mails, usually of a commercial nature, in large numbers and repeatedly to individuals with whom the sender has had no previous contact or who have declined to receive such communications.
In contrast, where Eccogene believes that certain product, health, or other information is of importance to you — and you have previously allowed your name and address to be used by Eccogene for such marketing or promotional mailings – Eccogene reserves the right to inform you by e-mail. We will always provide you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving such contact in the e-mail itself. If you would like to read more about how to opt-out, please follow the directions given below in the “Choices” section of this document.
How We Use Information We Collect. We use the information which is automatically received from your web browser to see which pages you visit within our Site. Such information is used to develop statistics that are helpful to understanding how this Site is used by our visitors. This statistical data is interpreted by Eccogene in its continuing effort to present the Site content that visitors are seeking in a format that they find most helpful.
When Eccogene receives personal information, we may use it for reasonable business purposes, such as contacting you if you agree, via e-mail or regular mail, to provide you with information we believe may be of interest to you. If you e-mail us, you are voluntarily releasing information to us. Your e-mail address will be used by Eccogene to respond to you.
We do not use your personal information for any automated decision-making process, including profiling that may produce a legal effect concerning you.
Third-Party Use of Information. Eccogene will not sell, share, or otherwise distribute your personal information to third parties for their purposes.
Personal information may be transferred to service provider third parties who act for or on behalf of Eccogene, or in connection with the business of Eccogene, for further processing in accordance with the purposes for which the information was originally collected by us. For example, these third parties may host the Site, provide analytics and security, and other administrative services; and e-mail delivery, customer service, and marketing assistance. Eccogene’s agreements with its service providers include appropriate security protections and prohibitions on using personal information for their own purposes.
In case of a security breach or pursuant to a legal matter that requires cooperation with authorities, your identity and the information you provide may be used for investigation purposes. Eccogene may, at its sole discretion, also remove all the personal information and use the rest for historical, statistical, or scientific purposes.
In addition, we may disclose personal information that we collect or you provide as described in this Privacy Policy for the following reasons:
- To comply with our legal obligations;
- To prevent or detect fraud, attacks against our network, or other criminal and tortious activities;
- To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request;
- To enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions of Use and other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes;
- To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Eccogene’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by Eccogene about our Site’s users and e-mail lists are among the assets transferred;
- If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Company, our customers, or others;
- For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information; and
- Otherwise with your consent.
Cookies. To enable Eccogene to provide customized and personalized services, Eccogene may use cookies to store and sometimes track information about you when you visit the Site. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer. Cookies, by themselves, do not tell us any personal information about you. However, if you choose to furnish the Site with personal information (such as your e-mail address), that information could be linked to the data stored in the cookie. Eccogene reserves the right to change our use of cookies and our practices regarding linkage to personal information without any prior notification. We use cookies on the Site to verify visitors and conduct analytics on how the Site to used. We do not use cookies to service online advertising.

Analytics. The Site uses Google Analytics to help us manage and improve the Site and our services. Every time a user visits a webpage, the Google tracking code added to that page will collect pseudonymous information about how that user interacted with the page. Google provides a Browser Add-On that allows you to opt-out by downloading and installing the add-on for your web browser, available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Choices. You may always opt-out or choose not to submit your personal information. We strive to ensure the accuracy of any personal information you provide to us. For those who do submit personal information, the data is available for review, revision or removal at any time. If you would like to update or review the personal information we have on file for you, please e-mail us your request at: info@eccogene.com. To assist us in properly updating our records, please include your old and new personal information in your request. For residents of California and other US states, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information. See the section below, “California and Other States’ Privacy Rights”, for more information.
In addition, you can modify or opt out of marketing or promotional e-mails from us by following the instructions contained within our promotional e-mails (by using the “Unsubscribe” feature at the bottom of each e-mail) or opt out by contacting us at info@eccogene.com. If your opt-out is limited to certain types of e-mails, the opt-out will be so limited.
Where Information Is Stored and Processed. This Site is maintained and managed by Eccogene in the United States, but the information you provide may be accessible to our affiliates and service providers in other countries. Moreover, if you are visiting this Site or communicate with us from another country, your personal information will necessarily be transferred, processed and stored in the United States. Your use of this Site or if you communicate with us indicates your consent to the collection, storage, and processing of your personal information in the United States and in any country to which we may transfer your information in the course of our business operations. The laws of the United States may not provide the same level of data protection as the laws in your country. Note also that your personal information may be available to the US Government or its agencies under legal processes.
Information Security; Retention. We take reasonable precautions to ensure that any personal information you provide to us is kept secure and confidential. We have implemented appropriate administrative, technical, and physical security safeguards to ensure the security, integrity, accuracy and privacy of the information you have provided. We also ensure that only those personnel with legitimate business purposes will have access to this information. Even so, we cannot guarantee that data provided to us will not be subject to loss, alteration, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction. It is important to be aware that all internet transmissions are subject to security breaches and errors. You should take precautions in choosing the information you send to Eccogene via e-mail and safeguard any passwords or special types of identification you use to access this Site.
We may retain your personal information:
- to provide a requested product or service;
- for as long as necessary to comply with any legal requirement;
- on our backup and disaster recovery systems in accordance with our backup and disaster recovery policies and procedures;
- for as long as necessary to protect our legal interests or otherwise pursue our legal rights and remedies; or
- for data that has been aggregated or otherwise rendered anonymous in such a manner that you are no longer identifiable, indefinitely.
California Privacy Notices. The California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act) (together, the CCPA) requires that covered businesses provide certain notices to California consumers whose personal information a business has collected when visiting a website or applying for employment. You have a right to receive notice of our practices, including the categories of personal information and any sensitive personal information to be collected, the purposes for which such information is collected or used, whether such information is “sold or shared” as defined under the CCPA and how long such information is retained. You can find those details in this Privacy Policy. Note, however, that Eccogene does not sell, share or otherwise disclose personal information to third parties for commercial purposes under the CCPA. We also do not engage in cross-contexl behavioral advertising.
“Shine The Light” Law — California residents with whom we have an established relationship have the right to request certain information with respect to any personal information that a business may have shared with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Alternatively, we may provide a cost-free means to opt out of such sharing. Note, however, that Eccogene does not disclose your personal information to other companies for their marketing purposes. For California residents under the age of 18 and registered users of our Site, California law (Business and Professionals Code § 22581) provides that you can request the removal of content or information you posted on websites. Any such request should be sent to us at: info@eccogene.com along with a description of the posted content or other information to be removed. Be advised, however, that applicable law may not permit us to completely or comprehensively remove your deleted content or for other reasons as set forth in this California law. Also please note that this Site is not intended for visitors under 18.
We do not currently honor browsers’ Do Not Track signals with respect to our Site.
California and Other States’ Privacy Rights. The CCPA also gives California consumers specific rights with respect to their personal information that is collected by businesses. First, California consumers can opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information with third parties under certain conditions. However, Eccogene will not sell, share, or otherwise distribute your personally identifiable information, personal information to third parties for their purposes.
Second, California consumers can request that a business reveal:
- What specific pieces of personal Information a business has collected about the consumer;
- Categories of personal information it has collected about the consumer;
- Categories of sources from which the personal information is collected;
- Categories of personal information that the business sold or disclosed for a business purpose about the consumer;
- Categories of third parties to whom the personal information was sold or shared for a business purpose; and
- The business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling or sharing personal information.
Third, California consumers can request that a business delete personal Information about the consumer that a business has collected from the consumer and, fourth, request that their personal information be corrected.
As a general matter, the CCPA also prohibits covered businesses from providing discriminatory treatment to California consumers if they exercise their rights under the CCPA.
To make a “Request to know”, “Request to Delete” or “Request to Correct’ regarding your personal information, please e-mail us at: info@eccogene.com with proof of your California residency. California consumers can use an authorized agent to submit a request on their behalf. We may request proof that the consumer gave the agent signed permission to submit the request.
We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days. We must provide the requested information or delete or correct your personal information within 45 days of receipt of your request, but we can use up to an additional 45 days if we let you know that additional time is needed.
Before responding, we must verify that the person making the request is the person about whom we have collected their personal information. We may ask you to provide certain, limited personal information, such as your name and e-mail address to verify and match your identity with our records and systems. If you have an account with us, we may ask that you verify your identity through our account authentication process. This is also to protect against fraud. We will not retain this personal information or use it for any other purpose.
Also please be advised that we need to search our records and systems only for the preceding 12 months. There may be cases where we do not have any personal information about you or we are not able to verify your identity for matching purposes.
Several other states have enacted consumer privacy laws similar to the CCPA. Like the CCPA, these other state consumer privacy laws may provide certain privacy rights to their residents. To the extent applicable, we will honor privacy rights requests under these other US state consumer privacy laws. Links to Other Websites. Any third- party websites linked to or from the Site may have different privacy policies. When you access these external websites, the providers of these websites may have access to certain personal information about you. You are encouraged to carefully review their privacy policies. Eccogene is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any websites that we do not directly control.
Children. The Site is not directed to or intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from persons under 18. If you believe that we might have collected any personal information from a child under 18, please contact us at: info@eccogene.com as soon as possible so we may delete the information.
